Thomas DeMoss
Thomas has worked many different jobs since he was 16; from being in the food industry to working with children at Hinkle, to making sure things look aesthetically perfect as a detail manager for his cousin's detail shop. In 2007, he started working for his father’s machine shop, where he still holds a part-time position, making parts from prints. Video games, mountain climbing, hiking and occasionally golfing are just some of his interests.
In 2011, while helping Jason at his engraving job, talks began about purchasing the business. 8 months later, on March 1, 2012, The Recognition Place opened its doors. Thomas, having years of management experience and a drive to make things as perfect as possible, has tons of fun at TRP and is eager to bring it to greatness!
Thomas married Rebecca on October 14, 2016, at Los Poblanos organic Lavender Farm in Albuquerque, NM. They’re continuing to grow their lives together, setting down roots to stay in New Mexico.
Jason York
Jason has been working in the awards and recognition industry since 2005. He attended the University of New Mexico, where he received his degree in Secondary Education. After not being able to find a teaching job, he focused on becoming a young entrepreneur.
Jason has two young daughters that consume his time when he is not at the store. Truly of Albuquerque, Jason loves the outdoors and showing his daughters all of the sights and sounds of the exciting and growing city. He enjoys listening to his customers and building a close relationship with them.
Jason is motivated to grow the business and looks forward to each new challenge. Jason currently serves on the board for Albuquerque 20/30 and March of Dimes. He enjoys being involved in the community and supports local initiatives as often as possible. He is optimistic about the future of the store and excited about the new challenges and opportunities ahead.

I’ve gone to The Recognition Place twice now. I had a whiskey glass engraved and a watch — the personalized engravings made both great gifts even better! The staff that assisted me both times were friendly, patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and great communicators. The turn- around time was great!
